In collaboration with Digital Design staff and students at the University of Plymouth this project recreated the medieval longhouse, Higher Uppacott, as a computer game, enabling players to learn more about the building, its phases of occupation and meet the people who lived on the moors. The project was intended to bring young adults in the coastal communities surrounding the moors in closer contact with the cultural landscape on their doorstep. This represents a new audience-led approach to digital heritage that has the potential to be applied to other historic settings across the UK’s National Parks and protected landscapes.
