HomeProjectsAboutContactPlymouth Heritage Praxis is part of an ongoing partnership project with the National Trust at A la Ronde, a historic picturesque cottage ornee near Exeter built by cousins Jane and Mary Parminter in the late eighteenth century. NLHF funding provided for a range of community projects and activities including student engagement opportunities for work placements, postgraduate research and the development of new visitor interpretation. The project culminates with a symposium in July 2024.

A la Ronde is currently under scaffold as part of its major restoration project. The physical restoration work being undertaken by the National Trust has provided an opportunity for new research into how we think about A la Ronde and the people who made and lived in it.
The first-floor shell gallery is one of the critical areas for restoration. The fragile nature of this unique interior required new, innovative ideas on how it can be interpreted and presented to visitors.
